watchOS 3 Activity Sharing messaging issues

In watchOS 3 Activity Sharing, when my wife sends default replIves to a notification of one of my achievements, the message is delivered to herself in iMessages. It works fine the other way around. When I send default replies to her avhievement notifications they are delivered to her as they are supposed to be. Curiously, when she goes to my page in Activity Sharing and taps the messages bubble and sends me a message from there, it works fine. We at both running watchOS 3 on 1st generation  Watches and iOS 10.0.1. I have an iPhone 6; hers is an iPhone 7. Anyone else noticed this? Anyone figured out the fix yet?

I'm having the same issue, when replying to my wife I send to myself but she can reply to me. Except that it also won't work from the Activity Sharing page -> message bubble.

When I do this, I start a iMessage conversation with myself.

I tried reconnecting to an other email/number and her inviting me. Both didn't work.
